Hot chassis in early Marantz, Help

Hi everyone, maybe someone can help me. Iam having problems with a marantz 32 power amp that i want to connect to a marantz 3200 pre amp. The first one have an ungrounded (2wires) plug , and the second one a grounded (3 wires) plug. When i connect them together by RCA ive got the electric box of the house to trip.

After a lot of investigation and a lot of help of petehall347 , we found that the chassis has 89V AC when testing from chassis to ground from the walls outlet.

I checked also with a marantz 250 and also 89V in the chassis.

So its OK to have this amount of AC in the chassis? Do the marantz 32 power amp and marantz 3200 preamp incompatible?

The marantz 32 got some transistors burned in this tests , but its runing again now.

So now i dont realy want to connect them until i know that there is no problem to do it.

BTW both amps were transformed to work in 220V operation (marantz 250) and in 240V operation (marantz 32).

All chassis, one chassis? What are you referring to?

At first the chassis of the marantz 32, but then i checked the marantz 250 and also the same "problem"

house wiring is fine we checked it .. it looks normal to me as i tried an amp here after lifting the earth at the plug ..i got same voltage .
 
So one would think the safety cap is shot on both units but i'm sure the reply to the thread would be- been there done that. I wish people would post the "here's what I've done" as opposed to a 40 post q&a :).

Sorry for that, maybe i didnt ask the good question. The point of this tread was see if another person has this amp or amps , and give some help by confirming that this amount of AC in chassis was normal.

Sorry if I did something wrong, Im relatively new here and as you can see , english is not my first language.

It's all good mon ami! Francais nes pas?

I don't see a safety cap in the diagram, most units have one, maybe cause there is no switch. Maybe adding one will get rid of the voltage on the chassis. Also double check that the move to EU voltage was done properly, I never got shocked from my 250.

Haha, in fact im peruvian , but leaving in France. :)

Mi french is worse than my english for the moment.:D

No safety cap , maybe its because its a model from the year 72?

They used ceramic high volt low capacitance caps in place of, now there are safety caps to prevent such things from occurring. If the ceramic cap went bad you'd have voltage on your chassis- not so good when you are dealing with tube amps, SS amps would wake you up but not kill you- they are called death caps in tube gear.
