Sorry about that, I'm a few days behind...

Being that it is SO close.....should I add it to my existing collection? :scratch2: :scratch2: :scratch2: :smoke: :smoke: :smoke: :smoke:

That would CERTAINLY give me an excuse the re-build my stereo rack.....Let's see:
G33000, below a G22000 and below the G9000........

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh as the wolves wait in the fields................the waiting game is ON...........................

I think this one will come down to CTABSW (Cash Talks AND Bull shintz Walks)

I just don't understand why people get so excited over the G-22000. I can only presume most of them have never heard one. It's not all that great. A G-9000 sounds better....and it a MUCH better value for the money.

Vintagestereo:

I got both a G9000 completely overhauld by EchoWars and original owner of the Queen unit: Sansui G33000 for the past 28 years.

Each has its own potential. As I said and can't agree with you more: Have you driven a 33000 with MANY different speakers lately??????

My Acura drove very differently with OEM Michelims vs. the Toyo summer tires....night and day to be exact.....

Dusty:

That is why we call it a "collectors" item.....Picture my S rack with :
G33000
G22000
G9000

DROOL....................Just looking at these are WOW !

IMHO, I don't see any need at all for a G-22 if you've already got a G-33. The listed G-22 has lost most of it's steam and is being eclipsed by the probably more rare SA-1000. Perhaps you should start venturing outside of Sansui a little........

Collectors "Collect" and they can be all the same model Rolls Royce', just different colors......... :smoke:

Wolf me in another direction...................N O T !

If you're really serious about it, and unless you're attempting reverse-psychology, I'm not sure it's very wise to be drawing attention to the fact........

Rule number one in collecting any vintage gear or antiques is pretty simple but very true. You have to love what you collect. As long as you love it then you will always be happy with owning it.

My collection of Sansuis is because I love the G 9000 models and I want the most pristine one I can find and a back up. Just something about haveing a 30 year old receiver that both looks great and sounds awesome and will blow most of the current offerings right out of the water.
With the two piece models I just never heard enough musical difference over the G 9000 to warrant the tripple and quadruple price tags. Nice to have the big, Top Dogs but just not musically necessary in my book.

Kind of like why buy a big V-8 engine in a particular model car when a V-6 in the same car will go faster and pass by a few more gas pumps in the process?

Collect what you love and appreciate.

Well, did you grab it? Are we going to be looking at the new mighty stack in ascending or descending order of G numbers? :music: :D

AS Friday approached I started to unwind....Guest arrived Saturday afternoon and forgot all about that ebay listing as I have to entertain guest. Besides I would not have forked out that much money! There will always be another one........but $3xxx.xx for a g22000 ?????????????????????? WOW !
