Hot melt glue repair suggestions?

I have a problem.....you're ideas would be appreciated. When I rapped on the rear of a Boston Acoustic HD8 speaker, I noticed an odd noise. Turns out that the hot melt glue used to attach a printed circuit board for the crossover to the terminal plate has cracked. The glue bled heavily onto the crossover inductor. I am reluctant to use a heat source to re-melt the glue, as I am afraid of melting the thin insulation on the inductor wire. Should I try to crazy glue this back together.....glue on glue?

I've not had any trouble with hot melt glue destroying any insulation. If you still feel it's a concern, just use the low-temp glue sticks...

I think he was refering to melting the glue that was there. I have softened such glue with a heat gun and the insulation around it was fine. You can control the temp my moving the heat gun away.

Ok, I misunderstood. I thought he was concerned about putting more hot-melt glue in addition to the original glue.

I've used the heat gun around critical areas by masking off the area with aluminum foil or heavy-duty cloth such as canvas...

I guess I should post a picture.....

The crack is about 1.75" long, and about .5" away from the inductor. Since the glue covers about 75% of the inductor, it will not be able to be insulated or masked off.

Use contact cement and forgo the heating.

Put contact cement on both surfaces of the separated area, let set a while to get tacky and press together, once attached, paint on more cement.

BTW, do this outside or with ventilation (you don't want them to find you dead with your head glued into the woofer hole do you?)
