House full of 250,000 records

It is a pity that this collection isn't donated to some college armed with some basic editing software, a collection of hard drives, and some quality TT's to transfer some of the no doubt rare stuff in this pile.

I see those old 78's at flea markets, etc, and I think "Once it is gone, it is gone."

I have to wonder what kind of filter determined what was there.
Did the hoarder just buy whatever he found, or was there some discrimination?

There is a store like this in Brooklyn. You can dig and dig - probably 200,000 LPs - as long as you don't mind rats.

Does anyone know where this house was located? I was emailed concerning a settlement of an estate where 250,000 records had been sold but the rest of the guy's gear was being sold off. This was a truly strange affair. Gentleman had a two story addition added to the residence for the record collection with no entrance to the main house without going outside. Had to walk outside and around the house to enter the main house.
