Eagles' 'Hotel California' Turned into "World's Largest Vinyl Record"

The Eagles already have one of the biggest records in the world in terms of all-time sales, and now they have possibly the largest record in terms of sheer size. The band are performing a six-show residency at the Forum in Los Angeles this month, and the venue is celebrating its relaunch by installing an enormous Hotel California record on top of the building.

The Forum is claiming this as the world's largest record. It's made of vinyl and is 407 feet in diameter, covering an incredible 250,000 square feet (or 5.7 acres). It weighs more than 50,000 pounds and sports letters as tall as the Hollywood sign.

The Eagles are one of my favorite bands, and I would love LOVE to see them live. But Glen and Don ruined the band years ago and their egos are so inflated its not funny. I looked at tickets just for kicks, the prices are asinine unless you sit in the nosebleed section, or behind the stage.

That said, the giant record is cool. I wonder if it even has grooves to be played and if so, how accurate those groves are to the actual record.
