I've seen those before on here; someone linked to a CL ad with that picture maybe a few months ago.
 
Interesting. Those actually kind of look how mine sounded. :) These were for sale a while ago, as there was a thread on them...I doubt somebody else did teh same thing to a pair. Did they just not sell (I can't imagine why....), or was the new owner not wanting to be a total square?
 
Actually, if those were near me, I'd buy them. As much as I don't like HPM-100s, the woofers in them were surprisingly competent. Put them in a proper enclosure (sealed, 3 cu ft or so) and you can get shockingly good bass, especially when you compare it to the original.
