On the other hand, in my bedroom system I am using a little Sony mini stereo system. It's a combination of CDP, tuner, cassette deck and amp. I have the TV connected to it as well. It has a remote that controls the whole caboodle making it very convenient. It is also very versatile, playing anything from cassettes to MP3s. Last but not least, it sounds way better than a cheap little thing like that should. All this results in me having several nice receivers lying around the basement, but I can't bring myself to replacing the little Sony. Key to success is probably that I ditched the Sony speakers as soon as I took the thing out of the box, and hooked it up to my ATL HD-304S - a pair of little bookshelf speakers that I paid DM1000 for around 1985, which converts to around $700 in todays money ;-)
Back to the system in the CL ad, what surprises me is that a piece of junk like that would have a phono stage. :scratch2:
