How Can I Bi-Amp with an 800c?

I've got some bi-wire cables and I tried it. The difference was noticeable.
What happened:
A neighbor gave me a pair of Monster cables from the '80s. She had inherited them and they sat in a coil in the attic.
One connector had dropped off. While stripping it back to put a banana on it, I noticed that there was a shield inside the wire with very fine wire inside that was shorted to the wire shield. I snipped off the banana connector on the other side and, lo and behold, the two wire sections were isolated.

So, I read up on bi-wiring and found out that you use the "thick one" for lows and the "thin one" for highs. So, I did that with both cable sets. If isolated on one end . . . they're bi-wires. If isolated on both ends, they're bi-amp wires. I isolated them on one end only and used them as bi-wires, removing the jumpers at the speakers and letting the crossover still do most of its job.
The difference was evident, mostly in the highs being more crisp. It wasn't any more difference than, say, changing the aux/tone amp tubes in your 800-C from the Tele 12AX7s to triple mica black plate 5751s, but there was a difference.

Martin -- you're getting the picture now. In your Fisher, you would come from the volume control wipers to a pair of rear panel jacks. These would be your "preamp output" jacks (ideally driven by a new cathode follower stage if possible). Then a neighboring set of jacks would be the "power amp input" jacks for the Fisher's internal power amplifiers. When the receiver was not being used in a biamp system, the standard jumpers would simply connect the preamp out and power amp in jacks for normal operation as before. When you wanted to convert to a biamp system, you would simply remove the jumpers, and insert the electronic X-over in the signal path. With this configuration, the Fisher would properly control the output level of all the amplifiers used in such a system.
