How can I use WIFI to run my pc into my receiver?

The only thing is that I'm lookin for it to be wireless in terms of my laptop. So that way my laptop can be in another room, and I can still hear Sirius or spotify out of my receiver
Depending on how far the two are from each other, you could have issues with Bluetooth. I use Bluetooth quite a bit and the range is about 20 or 30 feet, but even then, you can still have dropouts. I thought the two things were in the same room when I mentioned Bluetooth in my last post.

I don't know what all this airport and sonos is but you need an http://www.amazon.com/Audioquest-EVERG01-5MR-AUDIOQUEST-EVERGREEN-MINI-TO-RCA/dp/B005VQH37G or http://www.amazon.com/Audioquest-3-...0&keywords=audioquest+mini+to+female+rca+jack This option gives you flexibility in standard rca interconnect choices(think longer and more $$$).
The Airport Express is a small box that has an Ethernet port and a power port. You simply plug it in and connect it to your already established wifi setup (or to your router via Ethernet). You then can send any audio from a computer to it over wifi using the Airfoil app (the app can capture your computer's audio signal and allow you to play music on the computer and/or different Airplay devices). The Airport Express has a port that will send out an analog or optical digital signal for connecting to a DAC or analog inputs of a receiver.

There are a couple main differences between Sonos and the Airport Express. The biggest difference, besides price (the Sonos Connect is around $350), is that Sonos has its own application and has independent deals with certain streaming audio companies that allow it to stream from the web directly to the Sonos device. It can also setup its own "mesh" system outside your normal wifi, so it has less potential for drop outs. It has other features related to multiroom streaming that differ from the Airport Express, but the main upside is that it has the potential to perform better with wifi, especially with older routers.

I have a older airport extreme and a griffin power wave. I am trying to figure out how I could send a audio signal wirelessly from my Macbook pro to the airport then to the connected power wave to feed the input jacks on my amp.

Do you have a wifi access point/router in your network? If yes, and the laptop doesn't have wifi, then you can use a usb/wifi adapter on it. Cheap and cheerful.

So, basically, you need to have a wifi "hotspot" (be it your router or a dedicated access point) and the laptop needs to be wifi enabled. That way you get internet on the laptop and there you have it.

OK, so for my "starter pack" into this wifi idea I ordered the following.
1. Logitech Bluetooth Audio Adapter
2. Kinivo BTD-400 Bluetooth 4.0 USB adapter - For Windows 8 / Windows 7 / Vista
(because I actually need to install bluetooth on my windows 7 laptop)
3. iMBAPrice® 3 feet 2RCA Male to 2RCA Male High Quality Home Theater Audio Cable (3 Feet, Black)

Hoping this does the trick. Again, not looking to do anything crazy. Just hoping I can listen to sirus radio from my laptop through WIFI into my home stereo.

I'll let everyone know how it works out.
THANKS FOR THE GUIDANCE!
I love this board!

OK, so the 3 items I listed above arrived in the mail today, and they work PERFECTLY for my needs!
Again, I have a PC, so I needed the KINIVO bluetooth adapter for my windows 7 on my PC laptop. It all installed super easy, and in a few minutes, I was listening to SIRIUS radio from my laptop on my home stereo setup.
My ONKYO RECEIVER & KLH speakers will get even more use....thats when Im not spinning vinyl!
