How do I bypass my balance pot?

I tried to find a replacement with help from fellow AK'rs in another thread, but it seems to be unobtainable.

ADMIN: If this thread is too similar feel free to delete it if necessary.

So I want to bypass it. Below is a pic of the pot connections from the schematic. I removed the wires from the pot and jumped them together where the yellow lines indicate. It seems to work, but to me it seems incomplete. Do I need a fixed resistor in each circuit to connect from the jumper to the spot where the x is? Thanks for any guidance. It is a dual 50k pot

You might need the resistors to bleed DC leakage from other caps. I would have to see more of the schematic...

Thanks Mike, it is in the AK database under Pioneer SX-1000TW http://akdatabase.com/AKview/displayimage.php?album=44&pos=23

I would image more of it but I guess it would be simpler for you to have the link, I figure it might take 3 or posts for me just to figure out which part of the print you needed.

So if you don't mind taking a minute to look, I would be forever in your debt.

Okay, here's the latest. I decided I could not live with a bypassed Balance Pot. So I disassembled it and repaired it. I believe I may do a thread on how it's possible. Before that I need to do some testing. I believe I was successful. I will keep you posted.

Thanks for the link. The power amp section has 10uF/15V lytic input coupling caps with no bleeders, so you would want to add them if you go without the balance pot.

Thanks for looking after me:D

I was successful at repairing/rebuilding the pot, so I am good to go, I will start a thread to show the process.
