How do I hook up these speakers?

This seems like a stupid question but how do I hook up these new speakers?

Yesterday I bought a pair of ultra rare Traynor BW-23 with 15” woofers. These speakers hook up a little differently seeing as all the Cerwin Vega speakers I use seem to use speaker wire quick connect terminals.

these these are Bi-amp speakers and these Traynor/Yorkville speakers use 1/4 aux input terminals and another HDMI terminal of some sort.

could someone clarify this for me?

Those other terminals are call XLR.

Assuming you're not planning on biamping, put the switch in passive mode, get a speaker wire with a 1/4" phone plug on one end, plug into the low frequency input, connect the other end to your amp. Assuming you don't have the jumpers shown in the linked thread above, get a short (1 foot) 1/4" to 1/4" cable, plug one end into the low frequency input and the other into the high frequency input. Enjoy.

BTW: these might make good party speakers, but they're probably not ideal for regular music listening. They're designed to play loud and clear but not necessarily accurately.

I believe those are PA/ Sound System speakers. Using standard phone plugs, you can access low and high frequency speakers using separate amps. I am presuming the second phone jack on each is so you can daisy-chain a number together.

The Cannon/Amphenol (am I showing my age?) "XLR" connect is so you can use one plug to access both the low frequency and high frequency elements, and as beside it, the lower jack would be used to daisy chain.

That "passive/biamp" switch might be so you can access both elements with one standard phone plug...maybe.

Make sure you work out the speaker impedance load on your amp so you don't blow something up

This too says the XLR's are just a parallel set of inputs so no need to use them if you are using the 1/4" jacks.
