Nawh! As an artist, I've come to accept that "what is, is what is". Besides that, my wife often finds my stairing blankly at the wall for moments at a time, so now I will have something else to stair at.

I have 15 differnt color albums I am going to glue up in a stack for the platter. So I will have something colorful to stair at

The problem isn't that it turns too slowly when cleaning, but that it turns way too slowly under vacuuming...which leads to a huge increase in static...which is one of the reasons to use a record cleaning machine in the first place...two turns under vacuum at the speed the VPI turns takes only a few seconds, not the extended time you will be subjecting your records too...

I really do not feel that the speed your motor will turn the platter is really going to be a beneficial speed for a record cleaning machine...

I appreciate your concern Rick. If it does not work out, I'll just get another gear box. They are just bolt on units.

Mine was just the free advice of someone who has used both the NG's and VPI's and has had his own 16.5 for a decade, so take it for what it cost you!
