I was just reading about the 100 most influential female singers of all times and even though not all of them are very well known they all have one thing in comom: sales topping 1,000,000 albums. I suppose I could live with that (as a male counterpart) but then I stumbled on divas like Alanis Morisette (over 70,000,000), Adele (50.0000,000), Shania Twain (100,000,000) and last but far from being least Celine Dion with a staggering 143,000,000 (most successful female singer ever and close to Elvis Presley) and that's a conservative estimate. That's more than Rush for two of those signers (Dion and Twain, may as well compare Canucks with same).
These women are middle-aged, they have years left to enjoy (or endure) immense wealth and lifelong extreme fame. Does one can have that social status an d still carry a sense of self-control over their lives? Incredibly it would appear at least to yours truly that they deal better with this than their few male counterparts. I am not a fan of pop or country-pop artists (I like classic rock, fusion and jazz) and had never thought of this before reading the article but it seems to me that these gals manage their lives much more adroitly than men in the same situation. Just had me wondering. Any thoughts as to why men have a harder time coping? Just taking showbiz here, not Bill Gates and Warren Buffet.
