How Good Is Mc2500 Amplifier?

The sound between a 2105 and 2125 should not be that different if you are under 30 watts. But if you start going above those levels significantly then some clipping distortion with peaks will creep in which can't hapen with a 2125 and might be what you are hearing. Both have similar bass sound which doesn't work with infinite baffle speakers at all in my opinion. I gave up on Mac amps with autoformers till the direct coupled 7200 came along in the early 90's. I will admit there was a change when the 7000 series came along, 7150 and 7300 and the 2600, but much preferred the 7100 and 7200. The little previous 754 and 752 weren't bad and really rather good. They gave me some pause and I should have bought them instead of the Crowns. Seems like every 7 years or so they had to be sent to the factory for a total re-build. It wasn't the outputs but all the small caps, signal diodes and driver transistors. DC 300A's and D-150A's. The PSA-2 never game me any trouble. Bit a MC 7200 and 7100 sounded so much better.

The MC2500 is a powerful beast. I have two of them. I also have MC2255s. MC2205s, and MC7270s. These are all of similar vintage.
At age 79 I cannot hear any difference between these amps. All of them are highly respected.
With proper car the MC2500 will give you years of outstanding service - and great sond as well!
The only problem I had was when I wau running the two MC2500s in mono mode (1,000 watts each), and driving KLY Model Nine electrostatics. The KLH Model Nine was designed at a time that 100 watts per channel was considered "top end."
Running 1,000 watts through the older speakers was not a good idea. I blew out some bass panels, and ended up sending them to David Janszen (son of the original builder) to be rebuilt.
Now am running them from 8 ohm taps from MC2255s (250 watts per channel). Since the Model Nines are 16 ohm units, they only see 125 watts. As long as I do not get carried away, everything works.
You have made a great choice. I do not know what speakers you are driving, or the acoustical condition of your room, but the MC2500 should give yeoman service.
