I prepared a special playlist today to test my new cable elevators.

I especially like how the timbre in Lemmy's voice makes me feel the scotch breath in the room. There was no such imaging and PRAT before I used these amazing cable elevators.

How about you guys? How do you test your Hi-Fi accessories? :music:

You might try "Night Train" by Guns and Roses to see how your cable elevator affects the musical bouquet.
 
I performed your experiment, although the elevator I used was an emptied Rum bottle.. I don't know what damping fluid you are using, but it looks urine-ny.

I did find that it did change the sound. It made Lemmy's voice sound like an angel's. I really did not prefer this.
 
dont laugh but i usually use paula abdul- the dance remixes album for tests. it has it all. serious bass, female vocals, stereo imaging tricks, excellent production, and minute detail that only a better system reveals. sounds funny until "the way that you love me" shakes the foundation loose. :banana:
 
I listen to "If I had a hi-fi" backwards and forwards.

btw, I don't want my cables getting lazy- mine have to take the stairs.
 
I'm anxious to see if you can tune them by using a different liquid level in the bottle :scratch2:

Or maybe switch to deionized, pure, distilled, R/O water and see that affects the clarity of the sound? :D
 
OOOkay... we get the message that you don't believe in tweaks. As it happens, the mod team isn't much into them either... but we're very into the idea that no one gets mocked on AK, almost no matter what they like or believe in. This was mostly in fun, and no one crossed any lines, we just want to stay away from the usual audio controversies, on both sides.
