How it started. How it's going.

I started rekindling my fondness of quality audio about 1.5 years ago and I thought it would be cool to post about the progress in my journey.

It all started with a very modest Technics SL-BD22 and a mid-90's JVC receiver with Polk Audio monitor 5JR speakers.

1.5 years in I have arrived at:

- MB Quart 980S speakers
- Luxman C-1000 control amp
- B&K EX 4420 power amp
- AR XB turntable with Shure V15 type III on it
- 2nd TT Technics SL-D2
- Meridian 508.20 CD player
- Sony DVP-CX777ES carousel changer
- Denon DBT-3313UDCI universal player
- LG UBK90 4K blu-ray player
- M&K "Volkswoofer" V-2B
- Maverick Audio TubeMagic D2 DAC with Sparkos Opamps upgrade

Total investment: -$1000 (yes, minus) due to constant buying low and selling at what the gear is worth.

I still have a few pieces from earlier in my journey that I haven't sold yet so the amount spent will drop a few hundred dollars more as soon as I do.

How am I doing so far?

That seems like a VERY nice system at a really reasonable level of expenditure.

(totally not going to share your ROI number with my wife, I would get a lecture!)
 
Nice system. Especially for the $.

Ever thought of putting a bass trap behind the corner speaker? Try stacking some pillows back there, just to see how/if it changes/improves the sound.
 
Can't beat the price. Let us know how they work.

I stacked a couple of large pillows behind my corner speaker (KEF 104/2) and they make a noticeable difference. Not sure how long I'll be in this house, so they'll do for now.
