Had an Apple TV 2. It got along with HDMI to my AV receiver fine. Probably by simply not being HDMI RC/controlling at all!
Just updated to latest Apple TV (just called that now, no number). It has more HDMI capabilitues now. Cooperative or controlling.
But, no matter the setting (on it or the receiver), change HDMI cable, port, etc. It does something odd.
When I choose the scene or HDMI input, it comes on, then goes off or, does not come on at all.
What setting do you set your Apple TV at so, it wakes up to HDMI from your AV receiver?
