How many gangs in this tuner?

I think the MCS 3710 is in the same category as the Sansui Tu-717, same MPX chip, same number of gangs, one more filter in wide than the Tu-717, and you can find a 3710 for way less than the Sansui, the only advantage of the Tu-717 is narrow path and a post detection filter
Do you guys know if the 3710 has a post detection filter or if it is immune to HD radio ?

I'm not sure about having a post detection filter (other than the two low pass filters), but mine has never had any HD radio noise effects.

MCS 3710
From their catalog (with a few updates from a NEC document):

Frequency response: 9-16,000 Hz
Usable Sensitivity: 1.8uv
Capture Ratio: 0.9dB (MCS catalog said 0.6dB)
Image Rejection: 85dB
Stereo Separation: 50dB
Quieting Sensitivity: 3.0uv
THD mono: 0.2%
THD stereo: 0.15%

AM specs:
Sensitivity (uv/m): 250
Selectivity (dB): 30
S/N Ratio: 50

Here are 4 pics of the two side by side. The 3710 is on the left, and is bigger. It has quite a few features that the 3701 doesn't have. That surprised me - I thought the specs were the same, and the main difference was the location of the tuning knob. Not so, I found out. Even the width of the tuning dial scale is different. The 3701 is 12" wide, the 3710 is 13.25" wide.
Do the dial and meters have fuse type bulbs or do they have to be soldered in ?

Immediately I'm struck by the THD spec for mono being greater than the THD spec for stereo.

That was probably from the NEC document that I saw. The two MCS catalogs I have that list the specs for the 3710 have both the mono & stereo THD as 0.2%. I have stated in other threads that there are discrepancies in a few specs listed in both MCS glossy catalogs, and NEC documentation - that I have noticed over the years.

They are all fuse type.
Thanks. Tried taking the face off to get to them, and of course the tuner knob is locked with an Allen type screw. How the hell do you find out what size key it is, lol. Thought this was going to a nice quick switch, lol. ??

thanks for your help Hifirob2. Got the 1.5 mm wrench, got the face off. changed all the lamps , cleaned her up and she sound's great, looks pretty good as well. Cheers !
