How many speakers do you have and what are they?

* "Hello, my name is Patrick. I have a problem."

:lmao:

Yeah, I was about to say that.... until I got to the bottom of your post.

So, what kind of Wharfedales are you hanging? Newer ones, I assume? I've seen someone hanging big Altecs before. That's a sight.

OK, right now:

JBL L250 with 250Ti guts (living room)
Velodyne F1200 sub (living room)
B&W 601 series 2 (family room)
B&W LCR6 (family room)
B&W LM1 (family room)
Rava Adire sub (family room)
Yamaha NS-200M (garage)
JBL L80T with T3 crossovers (son's room)
Advent Mini (daughter's room)
iPod Hi-Fi (daughter's room)
Realistic Minimus 7W with Zilch XOs (PC speakers, in bedroom)
JBL L26 Decade (office)
JBL L20T (in the garage, for my buddy, awaiting tuneup)

Panasonic Thrusters.
Sony from 80's rack system - one has a Durabrand tweeter, which worked out well.
A mismatched pair of Emersons from two different shelf systems.
Old Yamaha cabinet with Sears drivers pulled from console - a single for center channel.
Homebuilt cabs with a pair of 6x9 car speakers in each cab - get loud.
In the garage a more modest pair made from boombox drivers mounted in Tide detergent boxes.
The Thrusters are my mains.

Since you appear to be a really serious audiophile, I only have one suggestion- try getting another pair of Thrusters. Stacked Thrusters are probably the best sound I've heard from a 2-channel setup.

I have a few pair, but only three pairs in stereo use-

Advent /3 bookshelf speakers
Paisley SPL Monitor 4000
Infinity RS4

Awaiting repair-

Phase Technology PC-80 (needs new woofers)
JBL LX-22 (just needs surrounds, will go to parents when done)
Infinity RS4s need original woofers too, but they are still in use.

I also have some etc. speakers-

Chinese iHome speakers, little 4-ohm bookshelf things
JVC full-range bookshelfs from a micro system, in use with a home theater setup

Keepers -

Tannoy Monitor Gold 12"
Altec 604C
B&W Matrix 605 (3 speakers for front of Home Theatre)
B&W DM601 (back of HT)
B&W Matrix 604 (not in use, but hoping to use eventually for a third music system)

STILL HAVE, BUT NEED TO UNLOAD SINCE THEY ARE NOT IN USE:

EV 15TRXB
B&W DM 610i
B&W DM 600i
B&W DM Center speaker for HT
Heathkit rebranded EV 12TRX

Nothing I have is really all that good. But I have:

Various DIY speakers
Design Acoustics PS-8c's
Various Subwoofers
Few white vans speakers, only ones I really use are my Acousitic Monitors
Pioneer 3 ways from the 80's I dropped some new woofers in
Becker Electric IDS 4
Fisher/Sears/LXI 15" 4ways
Advent Prodigy Towers
OLA's
Car speakers
Some newer KLH gear
Single Cerwin Vega LS-5 (use it as a center channel)
Sansui SP-200's
NHT towers (dont know the model #)
Kenwood LSp-9200's
And a bunch of TV speakers and speaker parts.

Just a few pair:
McIntosh XR-250 (first ones off the line!) (main system in the family room)
McIntosh Stereotech 3 (new woofer surrounds, Vifa dome tweeters, retired)
Realistic Minimus 7 (bedroom)
Altec ACS-41 computer speakers (PC in the office)
Lahti U2 (stereo in the office)
McIntosh F100 (rarest of the rare, display only 'til I can collect more mono gear)

Time to update the list - just picked up a nice pair of shiny white NHT Super Zeros . I'm figuring on using them as computer speakers in the office; I can hand-me-down the Altecs to one of the kids, or use 'em in the garage with a portable mp3 player, since the wife quite rightly pointed out I need *some* kind of music in the garage.

If i told you i'd have to keel you!"what?" i said id have to keel you"what?" i said...HEY WILL YOU TURN THAT MUSIC DOWN!" i SAID...umm nevermind the fire went out.

Just added a pair of the Insignia NS-B2111s, the co-axial design that was the rage about a year ago. Pretty decent-sounding speakers. I got them basically for the cabinets and binding posts for a full range project but I kinda like them as is. I'd prefer a bit more detail out of the tweeter or actually, I'd prefer the tweeter be about 2dB louder so I'll probably tweak the crossover and the cabinets could stand some reinforcement.. Other than that, with a sub, I think they'll be an enjoyable set.

I've got too many..

IMF TLS 80 II
IMF RSPM Mk IV (main speakers)
Celestion Ditton 44
Polk Audio Monitor 10a
Wharfedale W60
Yamaha NS-430

The TLS 80's, Polk Monitor 10a's and the Wharfedale W60's are on the chopping block though so I will be down to 3 pairs soon.

Time to update my list as well.

I sold the IMF TLS 80 II's, the Celestions, the Wharfedales and the Polks. I acquired some other speakers in the interim, but here is where I'm at now:

IMF Super Compact Mk I
IMF RSPM Mk IV
Kef 104/2
Yamaha NS-430
Sanyo AD-3060 (not your typical Sanyo speaker either!)

That's it.. thankfully. When the Sanyo's are functioning properly, those will be sold, along with the Yamaha's and then I am just down to 3 pairs. That is where I'd like to be at. I'll probably add more though knowing me.
