How to add thumbnail link to a pic in AK Picture Album?

I have pics saved in an AK picture album. I am trying to put a thumbnail link to the bottom of the page for one of these pics.

I am able to embed the pic in the post, but would prefer to just have the thumbnail so the post does not take up so much space. Is this possible?

I went to the pic in my Picture Album, and copied the picture URL as below:
http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/picture.php?albumid=1710&pictureid=12602

Then, within the "Manage Attachments" dialog box I paste this URL in the text box labeled "Upload a File from a URL". This results in the message "Upload Error" and " Invalid File"

Also, the link works fine when pasted into a blank browser tab.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks Westy56...but that didn't work for me. (Correction) that added the pic embedded into the body of the post.

Any other ideas out there? It's gotta be something simple :D ...but I am not finding it...

This is one of those "I dunno but" answers! Not knowing a more direct route, my answer would be to 'upload' the picture into the post, via the Manage Attachments 'button' - either from a file on your 'hard-drive' or via the 'yet-to-be-determined' direct route from the AK picture album :D - if any!

Cheers, og/Dave :thmbsp:

Thanks for the attempt Dave...i am using the Manage Attachments dialog box. I am able to upload from my hard drive.

But I think it would be more efficient to "upload" just a link from my AK Picture Album, that way the pic is only stored once. Also, AK won't allow you to upload the same pic to multiple posts (understandably so), but sometimes it is useful to be able to use the same pic more than once.

The Manage Attachments dialog just doesn't seem to want to recognize a URL from within the AK website....

Have you used the Insert Image with the address of the picture you want to post?

Yes I am able to do that.

Summary:
1) I am able to embed the pic in the post as you have done in post 6 of this thread.
2) I am able to link to the pic from my hard drive with the thumbnail/link attached to the bottom of the post
3) I am NOT able to use method described in #2 above when linking to a pic stored in my AK picture album. The Manage Attachments page will not accept the picture's URL address when it originates from another AK website address....for whatever reason :sigh:

Thanks Westy56 for trying :thmbsp:

I just tried using a totally new picture. Thinking that maybe it was not letting me link to a picture that I had already used in a previous post. So I uploaded a new pic from my hard drive to my AK Picture Album...

Same thing, could not use the URL from the AK picture album as a link in the Manage Attachments page.

Also verified the that the file size, in kb's and pixels, was within the limits stated in the Manage Attachments page....
