How to combine AV receiver with a tube HiFi system?

Hi all,

TLDR - I want to use my HiFi speakers for HT without going through my tube monoblocks.

I have an all tube HiFi system with DIY tube monoblocks and PureAudioProject Quintet10's speakers.

I also have a Samsung soundbar for HT duties, and it's terrible.
To make matters more complicated, I use an Intel NUC HTPC as a source.

I would love to use my speakers for HT, but I don't want to turn my monoblocks for random TV watching.
So what's the best way to go about this? add an AV receiver and speaker / amplifier switch box? Is there a better way?

Thanks!

I have my 2-channel system connected to my HT system several ways:

the main way I use it is that I use Apple TV for 99% of HT use. From the Apple TV device, I go via HDMI to an HDMI/Coax splitter. from there, it goes via Coaxial cable into my DAC, and 2-channel system. The HDMI passes through into my AVR. I don't have mains hooked up to the AVR. the downside is that I have to adjust both volume controls.

I also use the pre-outs on my AVR, into my 2 channel pre-amp. This setup is less than ideal, as the pre-out requires my 2-channel preamp volume to be dimed for unity gain.

lastly, my disc transport is connected to both my AVR and DAC and both can be used simultaneously.

Short of swapping speaker cables between the tubes and the theater receiver, sounds like you need a amplifier/speaker switch. Douk Audio VU3 is the one I have. 1715033861019.png
And since owning mine Fosi Audio has also released one, the LC30

They both will allow you to switch between 2 amplifiers and 2 sets of speakers, without switching wires around
