How to Connect My Denon Cd Player

Just bought a Denon DCM-520 Stereo CD Player. On the rear panel it has 2 Analog Output Terminals: Fixed and Variable. It also has 1 Digital Output Terminal for coaxial cable.
Question: Which terminals do I use to connect to my Receiver? Thanks.

Fixed or variable will work. Fixed is fine, you can use the receiver's volume control. Variable is good as well if you want to run the CD player at half gain and use more of the receiver's volume control. Variable is also good for connecting to power amps directly as you can use the CD player's gain control to control volume. If your receiver has an on board D/A converter, you can use digital output connection.
 
generally, the red/white analog outputs of the CD player would go into a red/white analog input of your receiver which may be labelled CD, aux or some such.

The fixed will have the receiver have total control over it's output to your speakers If it's too loud, you can turn it down before it hits the receiver by using the variable output. Generally, the fixed output is fine.

Of course, having no idea exactly what receiver you're talking about may change things.
