How to tell how much weight is needed for cartridge.

Hey guys, this is my second post, and the journey to turntable-Dom is almost over for me. After a lot of research, I managed to get a Philips 212 off off the bay of "E". I would have just waited for a local offer, but I love about 100 miles from anything that isn't red neck USA, so that would be a very long wait.

Anywho, it finally arived, and I have it all hooked up. But here is the problem: I don't know what the cart is. It's audiotechnica, but the seller didn't give a specific brand. As you know, without this info, I don't for sure how many grams to give it. I could just remove the head shell, but you gotta understand, I'm very unwise. I would likely get my cartridge destroyed somehow. I will still do it if it is the only way, as the internet offers all I need to know on how to do this. But first, I just wanted to check with the pros to make sure there isn't a much easier (and safer) way to do this, so I don't put my large investment to waste 'cause the internet told me I was a handyman. Please save all tomato tossing for after you answer. Thanks in advance guys!
