Evelyn Glennie is impressive.

I enjoyed her playing on the Bela Fleck album Perpetual Motion
before I knew anything about her. After I saw her TED talk my
admiration for her talent just increased. Thank you for reminding
me about it.

In addition to being a fine percussionist she is a courageous woman.

Her refusal to "accept her fate" and to succeed being a musician
is a real tribute to her. The fact that she was the impetus to
rework the Scottish educational system is a another gift she has
given to Scotland and by extension to the rest of us.
