Well, I thought I'd stop in here first and say howdy. I joined AK because Music is life. :music:

I'm in the middle of a major project.....digitizing my entire record collection, about 2,000 vinyls, so I can carry my favorite stuff around on the magical 80gig Ipod the wife bought me last year for Christmas. My main problem right now is that my tired old Pioneer belt drive turntable could probably benefit from a new stylus but that's not such an easy thing to find in these parts these days. If anyone out there has any suggestions on where to secure a new stylus I'd be all ears.

I'm not much of a gear head, least not a stereo gear head.....proof in that would be that I'm still running the Sansui receiver I bought for about 500 bucks in 1975! Hey, it's still running so if it ain't broke........go buy some more albums!

By the size of this place I figure I'll wander off into the forums and never find my way out again! heck we can even talk about hot rods (I have a 56 chevy the wife calls the mistress) Photography and guitars......if someone stops by with food from time to time I may never go home!

Thanks for the nice welcomes and the info. I have a feeling hanging out here is gonna be dangerous, I can barely buy gasoline and groceries in the same week now, I sure don't need anything else to spend money on but what the heck, eating everyday is probably over rated anyhow. :)

Grand Haven is just a hop skip and a jump from ole kazoo. Besides I get over there quite a bit in the spring and summer months plying the surrounding waters with my kayak! :thmbsp:

Haven't mounted a stereo in it yet but don't put it past me! :D

Have yourself a wonderful time ... great place to wonder around in this AK Forum.

I have a Sansui 661 Stereo receiver that I bought brand new in 1975.

To Answer your question I changed my signature to list my setup, antiquated as it is, but there isn't enough room to really do it right so I hope it doesn't raise more questions than it answers.....how come it seems that some folks have much more than the 150 characters that it says I have available for a signature??

Howdy Boxoboom....I grew up in the Kazoo area, went to Parchment grade schools and then the folks moved out by Plainwell and I went to Plainwell High. I lived downtown on Westnedge and Park streets in my early years of being on my own. Moved up here to Grand Haven in '77 and never left. Someday I'm getting out of this snow though......
