Hi,

How's the Sanyo Plus Series Q25 Quartz PLL DD Turntable, TOTL?? Worth to pick it up, looks to be in good condition, don't know about the cartridge but need a new needle replacement, I think it's a P-Mount?

I'm pretty sure the Q25 is not Sanyo's TOTL TT - there's the Q40, Q50, and Q60. P-mount, yes. :yes:

I have a Q50 and I have no plans to part with it. If it's priced right, why not try it?

That sure looks like a 1/2" mount in the pic.

The Q50 I'm spinning is definately 1/2", with what I assume is a P-style connector where the headshell meets the arm. (Have not compared closely, and I've never had a P cart in hand.)

Just got one of those myself in GREAT shape, free on the side of the road, boxed even! I'm digging it right now, but I'm sure it could use some tweaking. My first Japanese DD, save for a Technics D2 I had just a little while that fried. Not going to replace my belt drives (KISS), but I'm having fun in the office today.

I used to have a Q60. VERY high-tech, even into the realm of B&O. Sanyo Plus Series all seems to be quite good stuff.

Get it. Old Sanyo stuff is really good. I have Zenith receiver I got back in '82. Gave it to a friend in '89, who ran it 20 years and got it back when it would not fit her new cabinet. Hit it with contact cleaner afte all that time and its now the shop receiver. Its looks like Zenith bought it from Sanyo. Good stuff. And a keeper!

I just sold a Sanyo Q25 to a lady who wanted a complete system for her 17 year old. It played OK, but I was not that impressed with it. It was in great condition. I posted pics on another thread.

The Q25 retailed for less than $200 back in the day. It was BOTL for the + Series. The worst cueing lever I have ever come across. Besides being tiny, it literally drops the needle on the record. If you slowly push the lever down, you can lower the needle without damaging the LP or needle (PITA)

I can't speak for the other models in this line.

Maybe? I checked out another thread on this unit, and this particular cuing issue was mentioned by others. I don't really know, and my table is now gone.

Post a picture of the Acutex. :yes:

Don't dump the Acutex, if your lucky you have a jem of a cartridge that will outperform any new replacement cartridge.

Fully operational? Upwards of $150. More value depending on what cartridge is on it. If selling locally, what you'll get for it depends on local demand.
