Hello everyone,

I recently turned on my HP 8903a audio analyzer and it went right way to error 19; and no matter what I do (press clear. power off and back on, etc.) it stays there on error 19. Any advise in how to clear the error? The manual I have is probably incomplete (only 147 pages) and does not provide much troubleshooting help. Thanks in advance for your help.

Error 19 is, I think, "cannot confirm source frequency". Not sure what that means in terms of what you have to fix, but you can download the various manuals from various places on-line. There are at least three. It's a fairly complex instrument and I've yet to open mine up.

Thanks Conrad. I just checked and the manual version I have says what you just mentioned (cannot confirm source frequency), however it does not explain what to do to clear it.

Is your HP manual and owners/operators manual or and service manual ?

I have the service manual, but I think is incomplete. Mine ends on section 5, but I think it has 8 sections. I may be wrong though!

Hi You probably thought about this already but it would be worth posting your question on the EEV blog forum, there is a test equipment section and a few guys are very experienced with HP equipment and helped me with my old spectrum analyser repair a few times.
