HPM-100 "A" Crossovers (probably old hat)

Hasty

I've got a pair of early HPM 100 speakers with the "A" crossover. They are rated at 50 watts RMS, but can the early ones actually handle the same wattage as the 100 watt version?

If not, can the crossover be changed to the B or C crossover. I'm assuming the drivers are the same in all of them??

What about the 200 watt HPM's? Is the crossover the only difference, and if so, can they all basically handle similar wattage?

I'm asking because I question weather an Sx-1250 would be likely to damage these speakers (even without any clipping by turning the volume up too high on the stereo)

I'm currently running an Sx-950 and am not too worried about having any trouble, but I've considered getting a "heavy hitter" stereo like a 1250 (160 wpc), or dare I say... a 1980.
