Hrt music streamer II vinyl rips

Hope I am in the correct section for this question. If I am not I apologize.

I just got a Hrt music streamer II and I thought I had read that one could rip vinyl with it but I can't seem to find any information on how. I am afraid that I may have misread and am mistaken.

I am trying to take sound from my amplifier's phono out to the DAC, then to windows 7 using ripping using audiacity.

Is this even possible?

Thanks in advance for any and all advice.

The input on the MS II is the usb port on the front. Does your amp output the phono via usb. Do they make a RCA to usb adapter?

The HRT MS II is a DAC, meaning Digital to Analog Converter. If you want to digitize your vinyl, you need to go the other way, namely ADC, or Analog to Digital Converter. Some USB boxes go both ways, many don't. Look for something that is both DAC and ADC together.

HRT does make a DAC/phono digitizer, but it's not the Streamer. The Streamer is only for taking music out of your PC and converting it from Digital to Analog and then to be passed to your stereo. It will not do Analog to Digital.
