Hudson HiFi 'Table setup tools

A few years back I bought a VPI Scout (w/Nordost wiring, Dynavector DV 20X2L cartridge)
For those of you familiar with VPI's omni-pivot arm, setup is a bear.
It never seemed quite "right".
Recently I bought the 'table setup tool kit from Hudson HiFi.
Finally. the flower has bloomed.
Every part of the listening experience has improved, like a vail has been lifted.
Has anyone else used Hudson's (or another) setup tool kit? Did you have a good or bad experience?
Is this normal for most upscale 'tables to be this fussy about setup, or is this just a VPI thing?

Glad you are posting with good news & not a problem!
Yes, proper alignment can make a different. I don't view your VPI as fussy, but your cartridge has a MR stylus, which can be very sensitive to VTA setup. As you may know, there are different alignment methods (e.g., Lofgren A or B, Baerwald, Stevenson), and your TT/arm should favor a specific method. Not sure what Hudson uses (or VPI), but maybe you got a match & did a good job!
If you are happy, I would not mess with it. If I were doing it again, I would use the OEM VPI protractor.
fyi - I got a Hudson alignment set & have used it OK. I also have a Hudson record weight & use it every day.
