We've been having tornado threats here in my hometown, had one jump over our house Sunday.

Luckily no one was hurt at our house or in our neighborhood.

Had more threats and touchdowns this evening, one hit across the river in Iowa rampaging
through a Boy Scout camp killing four and injuring 48.

Boy Scout Camp In Iowa

Very scary weather we're having in these parts right now and from what I hear, there's six
more weeks of like weather coming.

If you haven't hugged your children lately, you might want to do so as soon as possible.

I know that I'll be giving my daughter a few extra hugs when I get home.

That is all...

You are so right about hugging your kids. That story really hit home about the Boy Scout camp in Iowa. That is a tragedy.

Not just kids... ALL your loved ones!

Uh-huh. Part of the trip Lauriann & I went on was to try to see Pam, her sister-in-law, before she died from cancer. It was all over her. She had made it down to the wedding in Dec, but I was honestly afraid she'd die either here or before they got her back home. Lauriann REALLY wanted to see her one last time-Pam had a very hard life until she married Lauriann's brother, Kevin. Anyhow, we were getting ready to leave that Thursday, the phone rang, it was Kevin telling us Pam had passed earlier that morning...You just never know. I'm sorry she's gone, but greatly relieved that she isn't suffering any more. Pam was Native American, dark & VERY pretty, but when she came down for the wedding, she was ghastly white & swollen. I remember holding her hands & telling her that she'd hafta get better, that she & Kevin would hafta come back down & I'd show them East Tennessee.. She lit up like a Christmas tree...Aww, man..I was only around her 2 or 3 times, but Pam was one of them people you just WANTED to be around...I told Kevin that, he kinda smiled & said a lot of people felt that way about her..So yeah, tell the people you love how you feel..You may NOT get a 2nd chance...

All very true words, sometimes theres no second chance. Have been wqatching your wild weather on the news. Keep safe everyone in the tornado belt

Steve

Yup, I broke my neck in the blink of an eye, could've been over right then... I think of that and am thankful every day.

Saw this in the news last night, absolutely heartbreaking, prayers to those that have lost a loved one.............

This sure hits home. My wife just found out this morning that her Uncle has prostate cancer. Some level 7-9 or something like that. (NOT good) He's either the same age or a couple of years older than me. :sigh:

Thanks guys. I went upstairs to hug my teenage daughters and I got yelled at.

But do keep safe in that tornado belt, ...or c'mon over to Jersey. Beautiful, sunny and a dry 80 degrees here with a gentle breeze.

I was on the phone with my dad last night when the news about the tornado hit the airwaves. Such a sad tragedy. :( I've really been following all of this news because I'm originally from Iowa (Cedar Rapids) and downtown C.R. has seen it's worst flooding ever. My family still lives in C.R. and I found out today that my grandma's old house (my cousins son and wife own it now) has water up to the 2nd floor and my oldest neice's boyfriends house had water coming in the first floor. It's sad to see what's going on in my hometown and the rest of the state. All of them are in my thought and prayers.

Turns out that one of the boys that died was a son of one of my wife's friends...

He was only thirteen :tears:

Going to the memorial tonight...

Scott

I make a point of telling Bethany I love her about every time I see her...Even if I DO get "The Evil Eye" a lot of the time...She's not my flesh & blood kin, but she IS my kid...
