Yes it is very interesting. I have bookmarked so I can
read more thoroughly later, and share it with friends.

Thank you for posting it.

I'm not sure if this is the correct forum to post this in, but one of my former students sent me this link. I found the article quite an interesting read and wondered if others might as well. Kinda audio related, don't you think?

Here's something interesting regarding the ability of human hearing:

Same link twice by different people in consecutive posts ! - that's an echo isn't it  - maybe it's just a coincidence :scratch2:

Interesting.

Moderator merged the threads maybe? Or does that even happen here? I'm trying to remember if I've seen merged threads here or not.

I read if the human eye had the resolution of an ear one could see a 60 watt light bulb in California from NY (no atmosphere of course). Eyes and ears are simply devices to detect frequencies. Audio is at the lowest end of frequency scale above DC. AM radio stations starting about 10x above audio range (220kHz in Africa lowest freq), FM stations much higher frequency, but well below vision frequency. Place a brain processor in line and resolution increases from say a photocell that detects light frequencies (no resolution beyond say 0 or 1 digital out without a demodulator).
