Hi guys, I spotted a nice lead-filled black acrylic (delrin?) platter with an inverted bearing (no cork on the bottom though, maybe it was just removed?) on evil-bay. I believe it's the MK-IV? But I'm not totally sure. I can weigh it when it arrives. Seller said it's 1" thick.
I may have been a bit hasty in my decision (tho price seemed good). I just have a couple questions if anyone can help me out.
I have a HW-19 JR, so it has the solid acrylic plinth (no separate arm board). Will mounting the new bearing well / platter work on this plinth? How difficult will this be, or is it simply removing the mounting screws of the original and replacing the original bearing well with the new one? Will the platter itself be substantially higher, necessitating raising the tonearm with shims? I have a Origin Live Rega 250 so I think there are shims available for that.
Should have asked before buying, but oh well! If it doesn't work out, I can always pass it on to someone who can use it!
Thanks for any help guys.
