Thinking about getting rid of my A-88X. I like it and it’s defently not bad. I recently got a VSX-D1S and it’ll be my primary amp/receiver now. From what I’ve read the A-88x is rare (in a way), kinda like the A-90. Just wanted reach out on AK, for some thoughts. Is it worth it? Have you ever sold anything you regretted? Thank you

That would be a big mistake you'll regret it later...
Your receiver while nice. .. is no match for that amp.
You could use the receiver as a preamp and hook up the amp to the receiver.

Yeah I'd be keepin' the A-88X, but I'm not a receiver guy anyways so there's that.
Like many of us here I've had stuff come and go but the stuff that was nearest and dearest to me ended up at my kid's house so if ever I start jonesin' I can always go to his place. :D

Seriously though only you can determine that I guess. However once it's gone there will always be that; I wonder what that woulda sounded like on the A-88?

I know it’s there in the article but let run it by you. Please.

D1S PRE-OUT goes into the the TAPE IN on the A-88? The A-88x only has tape loops

My D1S, has jumpers on the Pre-out/Power-in for the rear amp and another set for a front amp

As well as just a Pre-out for the center amp


Which one do I choose?

Yes try tape loops Tape 1
 
@Harvestor one last thing. For the loop it just has REC & PLAY, no IN or OUT. Put the pre out into PLAY right? Just double checking. Don’t know if something can go wrong.

I think you got that right...
I've made the mistake of hooking them up 180 degrees wrong ....& no issues just switch back and then everything will work fine .. . You won't have sound if it's wrong
