I received a pair of Wharfedale W45 speakers today that I purchased. I had high hopes for them because I like the W35 and the W45 is the same speaker, but with a 10" instead of an 8" and a larger cabinet. I unpacked the speakers and put them in the system, adjusted the crossovers, and realized pretty quickly that the midrange drivers weren't working. I removed them both from the speakers and tested them and they are both dead. I want to have them repaired, but I doubt I can find original cones and I'm concerned that replacements won't sound the same. The code on the driver is BIC-413. Was this used in any other speaker? Who knows, maybe I'll get lucky and find a pair of destroyed W35 cabinets with good drivers in them.
