I Broke My AU-7900

That did the trick! Replaced the diodes and the DBT dims, relay clicks, and I have nice and low DC offset (around 7mv just after powering up). Thanks so much again Petehall347 and bktheking!
 
Glad you got it going. Since you are in there you may want to replace those fuse resistors and VD-1212 diodes.

Love that 7900...

I guess these are common failures with this amp?

I got lucky, I bought extra diodes when I repaired my AU-3900. I really don't have any spare parts here except for bulbs and fuses.

+1- those vd1212's can be replaced by 2 1n4448's or 2 1n4148's in series.

PS- a good resource for some electronics in your area is QKITs, they are right off of the 401.

So that would be replace a vd1212 with 2 1n4448s or 21n4148s by connecting the cathode from 1 to the anode on the other and mounting the the other 2 legs to the board?

That's good news about QKITS, I had no idea they were there. I see they have a kit for testing transistors in curcuit, I might just have to try one of them.
 
I looked up 1n4448 on Digi-Key's site and they have a few options with differing specs. Are any of them okay, or is there one that's best?
