It took quite a long time to get together and I'm not sure I could actually make much profit on them. Regardless, I don't want anyone to think I posted it here for that reason. I'll send you a PM. If anyone else wants to discuss this, I think it best done in PMs.
 
I am a self-proclaimed wuss when it comes to killing animals of any sort and then have to deal with the dead body afterwards, and would purchase a product like yours in a heartbeat if it were commercially available.

Fear not. I'm sure whatever entity is in charge of those things will probably just build a better mouse.
 
Not to in any way discount your very ingenious rig, but I am still of the opinion that the attached is STILL an example of the VERY best mouse control you can get.

Get a cat. Or many. I felt a little sorry for the mouse last night that seemed to be plaYing with my black cat. A minute later only it's head remained. Earlier I put on my oven to cook some chicken. Putrid mouse crap stink came out. DIE MOUSE DIE!

I have bad luck with the standard mousetrap. The mice just nibble the peanut butter off without setting off the trap. I need help, whats the secret?
 
KICKASS! Well done:thmbsp: A couple of weeks ago I posted a thread about a trap that kills mice with Carbon Dioxide, then text messages you when it is "done". A quick search should bring it up if you are interested. Yours is cooler though 'cause you built it yourself! :banana:

I had a lot of trouble with mouse traps too (duh). It always seemed it took more weight to trip them than the tiny mice we have here could muster. I experimented with a lot of non-powered designs of my own with similar results. The first on I caught was with a box I made with a stick and a string, Fred Flintstone style. Yes, it took a lot of paitence!

But the light weight problem is what led me to the IR beam. I figured any mouse would trip that.
 
Thanks for promoting a humane alternative.

My dad set snap-traps when we had mice. Caught every one of them, too. I insisted on using humane traps, mom even bought a couple, but he refused to use them.

I didn't speak to him for awhile. I love the little buggers, have had 4 pet rats and 2 pet mice.

To the rest of you who still insist on them being dead:

Get the Victor trap, they are so hair trigger that you really must be careful setting them down, got the first four with the same bait. For all you humane folks if you will pay the bill everytime the wiring of our car's computers gets eaten up I'll stop trapping them. It was a mere $925 the last time.
 
Went to throw the cover on the GoldWing yesterday to find the inner liner had a hole chewed in it stuffed with leaves. A dead mouse is a good mouse.
The minute you put them outside they will be back in your house, garage, car, wherever before you can sit down in your chair.
 
Good schtuff! We haven't had a mouse problem, but now I wish we did....(not). Reminds me of the projects from the old Boy Scout manuals.

We saw one. So far I've caught seven. Two one night, four the next, one last night. I'm hoping the one last night means we're done.
 
Excellent engineering and craftsmanship Eddie! Heck, I don't have mice and I still want to build one. :thmbsp:
