I found an Aesthetix Calypso for under $600. What's a reasonable price for this line stage?

That thing don't look like its tube powered to me... I don't see a single tube in that preamp unit you're looking at, unless I'm missing something...

They resell for $1800-2000, and the item in the photos is absolutely what they say it is. It's tube, they probably removed them for shipping. Linestage only, but a very good one. I owned and sold one.

Why is shipping this pre so damn expensive???

It says this in the listing about the shipping:

Important shipping note
: Due to the nature of this item, I will hire an established shipping company to pack and ship the Calypso professionally. I have used them in the past to ship other audiophile equipment and they are excellent. The Calypso will double boxed and reinforced with professional shipping materials.

The remote, manual, power cord and tubes (only if you want to buy NOS tubes for the Rhea, message me for details) will be carefully packed and shipped by me in a separate box via USPS.

This is why the shipping cost is what it is - it's done right by the pros.

Seems reasonable, I'd rather an item this expensive be packed by a professional company.

Shipping cost is excessive. It is not large and the case size is easy to pack for United Package Smashers. All new packing material including styrofoam sheets, large cell bubble wrap, and new box is no more than $20. Nice money maker for the seller.

Anyways, interesting dual mono design. Would love to try one some day.

What do you mean by "dual mono design"?

Seller put a lot of words in description; many words are very repetitive ("audiophile", "$4,500", "$5,000", etc.).

However, essentials are not explained clearly. For instance, I still don't have any idea if tubes are included? Or not?

Seller says, "tubes (only if you want to buy NOS tubes for the Rhea, message me for details) ". What the heck it means? What is Phea?
If included, what exactly kind of tubes and how many?
Picture shows no tubes.
