No, it's not MORE COWBELL.
Having received a nice settlement from Uncle Sugar on my taxes, I started trolling CL, Ebay, local ads etc for some audio gear. I have the cash and I have the Fever- or so I thought. Locally there is a nice pair of MB Quart Domain 55's + Domain Center "Stage" for a very nice price. I did my research- these are high end speakers, and I was lusting to buy them- because I could. I even dialed the number...and then hung up.
Why exactly am I buying these speakers? :scratch2: Do I really need to add another pair? Are they better than what I already have? So I spent some serious listening time re-evaluating my system, and I realized that I'm quite happy with the gear I have. This was just an old reflex reaction to having some ready cash in hand- "Time to get more audio toys!"
So the fever abated- and I have to say it's nice to feel I'm more than satisfied with my current audio rig. I think we all just need to appreciate more of what we already have, rather than lust after what we think we need. After all, isn't that the ultimate goal- to get the sound right, and then just enjoy the music?
Thus endeth the lesson...
