I had a really bad week.

Donny

Big Damn Hero
I was sick then a crown came off a tooth and yesterday I tripped while climing down a ladder. I heard a "pop" when I hit and it felt like something gave. I finished out the day at work (prob not the best thing to have done). Today I went to the doctor and I will be trying out a bunch of pills. Oh and more good news I have high blood pressure and I was told 3times by the doc I am too heavy.

Donny, it's not that bad... yet. Listen to your doctor and get healthier! You're still young... :)

Good luck!

One of my best friend's older sister was just killed Saturday while crossing the street.

She was hit by a 16 year old driving her car... hit her doing about 40 MPH... it was at
night so the driver didn't see her.

She was kicked out of her oldest daughter's place as she got into an argument with
the daughter's boyfriend.

She was also going through a divorce (that's why she was at the daughter's place).

She was headed to an area where my friend's younger brother and his family was going
to pick her up from.

He arrived five minutes after the whole ordeal unfolded...

She coded twice in the ambulance, lasted ten minutes at the hospital, then passed on...

Sounds like it's been a bad week all around... :tears:

Donny- watch that high blood pressure...You're VERY young to have it, I would think...I paid no attention to mine, just blew it off, & had a Stroke a couple years ago because of my foolishness. Do what yr Dr. says, try to exercise & get some of that weight off !! Tellin' you like a friend..

Dang Donny, I had a crown go south on me Saturday, and it still hurts like heck. Called my dentist this morning and he said I will need a root canal tomorrow at 2:00. I had to work all day in 100 degree heat with it throbbing. I went through 1/2 a bottle of Ambesol and some pills he called in for me that made me sick at my stomach. Hang in there brother, I feel your pain (literally). Jay

Donny I'm in my early 20s and recently did a complete lifestyle change. Now I still smoke pipe and cigars but I exercise, eat healthier, and drink lots of water. I've lost 55lbs over the last 5 months. If you want any information from me feel free to PM.

Hope your week gets better.

Donny: the b.p. medicine may seem to be a pain in the a$$, but the added pressure on the blood vessels (scarring) in your kidneys can put you into a dicey situation years from now. Dialysis is lots worse than b.p. medicine, and the anti-rejection meds and other considerations after a kidney transplant is far more of a PITA than b.p. meds ever could be.

I am NOT at the point of serious kidney problems yet, but I have to take a diuretic daily, (lack of which was the start of my 2004 hospitalization) and am quite concerned about the future. I saw lots of dialysis patients during my hospitalization.

I wish someone had said these words, in this way, to me twenty years ago, instead of just including the words kidney in a long improbable sounding list.

My best friend's stepdaughter required (she got one of her mom's) a kidney transplant, that too was an eye opener.

As for the weight, when I lost 200 lbs the first time, I just ate less overall with less calories and smaller portions, and excercised a lot more; walking 4 miles a day, every day, very briskly, NO MATTER WHAT.
Took 2 1/2 years... kept it off for a while, until I made the mistake of cutting down, then stopping, the walking.

Thanks for your concern and info guys :) I can hobble a lil faster today. Tho I prob won't be able to exercise till my knee gets better. Jay I hope your root canal goes well. And LordofPain losing 55pounds in 5 months is Amazing and so is Mark losing 200 pounds! The pills have me in a better mood so I'm gonna try doing a few things around the house.

Never mind losing 55 lbs., I just admire the fact that someone under 50 - 30 even - smokes a pipe and cigars!

Activity is the thing. You can diet all you want, but it won't do anything for you without exercise. Speaking of which, I need to do more of it myself. Get out on the bike more often or sut'm.

just because you feel better WITH the pills, please don't push it.... they'll mask additional damage. (learned that the hard way in rehab)

re: weight loss, well I did say "the FIRST time".... it's all back and more.... but it was even worse in 2001- 2004.... so I'm only an authority on recividism..... but looking back I can see where I screwed up.
