I have a Dynaco Pat5 MOSFET...

Currently I am using the Class A preamp section of an Onkyo amplifier with my Dynaco ST70 amplifier. I have a Pat5 that is a bit old and noisy. Am I better off cleaning up or restoring the PAT5 or staying with my current setup?

The PAT5 is pretty decent once restored. But only your ears can tell you if it sounds better. Was the PAT5 a kit, or factory wired?

It’s a factory model.

Nice. Some kits I've seen were a horror show. Most do a good job of soldering it up though.
