I just bought a set of DCM Time Frame 2000's

This thread is a roller coaster... but a fun one! I really want to see someone score TWO pairs of TF-2000s, just to know that such things can still happen!

Well it turns out..................They were for real!!!! I now own 2 pairs of TF 2000s. They will need some cleaning and one pair will need to be recovered but all drivers are 100% and they are just BEGGING to be played in "Stacked Advent" style. Man I wish I had enough good power amp channels in the basement! No water damage by the way. The Cornwalls are also here and 100% functional. Pics to follow soon.:thmbsp:

Folks, I have seen and heard 2000's hooked up to a pro Yammi amp I think.

They are nothing like the other TF's I've heard. The other TF's I heard were poor next to the openness/ huge soundstage of my TW1's.

The 2000's were more full range and more full everything really. Stacked? Do it! Even just once, for a photo op...:D Good grief, that would be 9 ft tall! Think about Yamaha 5002s or Haflers for that.

Like to know your serial numbers. They are some kinda low production or were they only prototype?

I have a pair of TF-600s, and they sound absolutely fantastic! The TF-2000s also have the rear-firing tweeter/s and with the added oomph of the 8" drivers they should kick some serious butt! I would love to have a pair of the 2000s.
I just received a pair of the 6.5" drivers as spares for my 600s from DCM today. When I ordered them from DCM, I asked about the tweeters and parts for the 2000s. No luck on anything. I even asked them about the crossovers from the 2ks and the 600s, but they had none of those either.
If anyone out there needs spare 6.5" drivers for their Timeframes, give DCM a call, they are $32.00 and change each. Not sure how many they have.

Here are some pics. Serial numbers are 388, 389, 392 and 393. Having taken some measurements, they would be over 10 feet tall if stacked and only one room in the house would hold them. Right now that room has 2 pairs of Acoustat 2+2s so I will have to really consider it. Also the need to somehow bolt them together would leave marks.

I have never seen a pair of TF2000 in a store. I saw them at the CES, and I thought the next year I asked the DCM folks at CES what happened to the TF2000 and he said they never made it to production, they were too expensive. So they must have made a pre - production run for DCM reps and large dealers to show off, and they never got off the ground. There couldn't be that many of them out there. You are a lucky guy!:thmbsp:

The TF 2000 really is a LOT of fun. I have owned Time Window 1s, and 3s, as well as TF 250, 300, 400, 600 and 700s. These 2000s are actually pairs 2 and 3 I have seen. Way back 13 or so years ago i traded out a pair of vandersteen 2Cs for a pair that I gave to a room mate as a birthday present. I did take his TF 700s in trade LOL. I have a "thing" for speakers and have been keeping the peepers peeled for some more TF 2000s for years. Now i have two pairs. Who would have thunk it?
If the socks were not such a pain I might consider opening these up and re-doing the internal cables and upgrading the parts in the crossovers. Who knows I just might do it anyway. Now to go find a nice 100 wpc to play them with............
