I just bought a vintage Sony Video/Audio switcher

Model SB-V1000.

it's big, heavy and has lots of features, but since it's old, it doesn't do HDMI, only composite and svideo.

Now i am looking for manuals, and am running into a brick wall. Anyone have any information about these?

I've tried Google, etc, no luck so far.

A quick look revealed this $15 solution:

No relation, and don't know anything about it...
The service manual should reveal operational details. Usually the block diagram tells all.

But also, a review of rear-panel connections and front-panel switches should reveal almost everything. It looks like a basic routing switcher... one input to any, or many, outputs, etc. You may be able to "split" audio from video, to substitute a processed audio chain for the original, etc. Think of it as an electronic patchbay.

Chip, thanks for the info.

I figured out the basic information right away, but like you mentioned, I want to get down the the nuts and bolts.

Hey Chip, I know this is like 10 years ago and all, but did you ever find a copy of the owners or service manual on this item? i have one and pretty much figured it out.
Mine had a bad power supply that was distorting the audio. Managed to fix that.
so anyway if you have the book , is there any way i could get a copy of the instructions section?
