I just bought an Oracle Delphi MKii

I just bought an Oracle Delphi MKII. These are supposed to excellent turntables. For the cash I just forked over it better be.

It has a Rega RB300 Arm with an Alchemist 8 Cartridge. It's replacing my Sony PS-LX410 TT.

For those who have an Oracle Delphi will this purchase improve my listening experience enough to justify the money I just put down for it? I have a lot of old records and I would love to listen to them in high quality.

I will be receiving the Delphi in about a week so I will be anxiously waiting it's arrival.

Did you get that from the guy up in Canada?

I tried to get him to sell it to me and ship it. No dice.

HI Lord,
I can't speak for the earlier Delphi's but my Delphi V with the black granite base and turbo power supply is a great turntable. Of course, much depends on the tone arm and set up. Mine came with a Graham 2.2 unipivot arm which was wonderful. I replaced it with an Eminent Technology ET 2.5 air bearing arm which is even better.

It is my understanding that the earlier Delphi's had finiky suspensions but when set up right it is excellent. But I can't speak for that personally. I would research it on the internet. My V has been very stable and set up is not all that difficult.

I hope you are getting the factory manual. It really is needed.

Congratulations on getting what I think is one of the most beautiful turntables ever made. I'm sure you will love it. What cartridge are you planning on using? The turntable really deserves a good one.

No, that would've been nice though. The one in Canada was vastly cheaper. Too bad he wouldn't ship it for you, that price he was asking was unreal.

I'm getting the manuals. I attached a picture of them.

It has at the moment an Alchemist 8 Cartridge. I'm going to see how that cartridge is working before I decide on another. If it needs replacing I'm going to get recommendations from AK. :thmbsp:

Sparky is right on the money here. A good cartridge is warranted and required for such a fine table. I too heard about the suspension issues that can be easily tweaked to perfection but require regular maintenance. I've been keeping an eye out for one of these and I live in Canada..... What are you guys talking about? A guy in Canada has a nice one for sale at a good price????? I'm listening!:D Now make with the goods. Where is this guy.:sing:

Oh the myriad of choices for a tt of that caliber. Makes my mouth water just thinking about it... :drool:
