I Killed My DL-110 !!! recommendation?

It was a horrible accident. I bought my DL 110 a couple of years ago when it was a little over $200, now they're $400, and I can't replace it. I listen to electronic, rock, industrial, punk etc.. If I can get away with a replacement for around $300........any recommendations? My other TT (Pioneer PL-L1000) is being serviced and fitted with a new AT VM540ML. Never tried a Microline. I have the ability on my preamp to select MM or MC.

With such repair prices as Sound-Smith , it makes sense to repair only expensive cartridges. And if the price of a new DL-110 is about $ 400, I personally would not pay $ 200-300 for its repair .

If you shop around internationally I'm sure you can find a new DL-110 for under $300. If you can do LOMC then maybe some of the AT carts might be viable options, or even a DL-301 if those are still around for reasonable prices. If you really like the DL-110 and don't have an itch for something different, probably just best to get another.

All good replies!
So you can swing $300 but not $399....why not just save up the extra $99 and replace the DL110?
Yeah, that has crossed my mind. I think I was curious to find out if there was a good less expensive alternate. The international option is a good idea. Thanks for helping me out.

Thanks for the info..........I think that's my first best option.

If you like the DL-110 How about a repair, if possible

or any of the other services available. Ive had good luck with SoundSmith and it appears their turn around currently is very good. Just sent two cartridges to be redone, they received them December 10th and they just notified me (december 17) they are ready to ship back.
I killed one of mine (have 3) and sent it to Joseph for a re-tipping. He used to ply his wares here but no longer.
I snapped the cantilever. Looks like it's going to be a new one. As recommended I found some on eBay for around $325.

Anyone have experience with the Microline stylus that's going on my PL-L1000?

Which turntable/tonearm would we be talking about in that context (you've merely mentioned your other turntable....) - and which pre-amp exactly?

cartridge_retipping-5 - search his listing at the auction site. As well as retipping for customers he always seems to offer really interesting carts he he's either merely restored but, upgrades with better styli and cantilevers. If you don't see something that intrigues you now, it may come along shortly. He currently has a DL- 160 with a sapphire cantilever and a Ortofon MC10 Super with a better stylus and cantilever, among others.
No affiliation, just promoting a good source for cartridges.

Doesn't matter if you snapped the cantilever. It can be renewed with a new cantilever and stylus, unless you want a new cartridge. I would struggle to pay the current, very high, prices for that cartridge. If you love it and can have it retipped for $200 or so, it's a no brainer IMO.

Re tipping sometimes isn't literal, they dont just put a new diamond but rather they instal an entire cantilever that has a dimond of your choice. So you could have a ML with boron cantilever put on the DL-110 making it better than a new one for the same $$$

Just saying.
