I need a good kid's electronic piano

Hi. I am preparing for my kid' Xmas gift. She loves an electronic piano, so I want to buy one for her.
Can anyone recommend a good one for me?
There are various electronic pianos online, some expensive, and some of them are cheap.
I don't know which brand is good.
Any recommendation? Need a good but affordable one.
Thanks

You should join your local FreeCycle organization. If you`re not familiar, it`s a community `net-based bulletin board (usually arranged by county) where people post all manner of items that they no longer need or want, available for FREE (what a concept !) rather than just throwing it in a dumpster. First come, first served. A friend of mine recently scored a very nice Korg Triton keyboard, just needed some cleaning up. Nice deal !

If this is more than a toy (i.e, if you think your daughter might want to stay with it for a while), you'll want an 88-key version with weighted keys. We got a Casio for my daughter a few years ago and she still plays and takes lessons. When she went to recitals (pre-Covid), she was able to use their grand piano because the scale length and key weighting was similar to what she's learned on.

There are lots of reviews online that you should check out, but weighted keys and full scale length are the main things I would focus on. The tone will never be as good as a real piano, but you can get close-ish. Then there are all the extras— a stand/built-in extra speaker, pedals, etc...if you go that route, it gets expensive, for sure, but it was worth it for us. We went with a Casio CGP-700, but that was probably overkill (but there are a bunch of extra cool tones and the ability to record...which is very cool—especially for dad!—but we really haven't taken advantage of the more professional features. The Privia is a cheaper Casio option, but with less features overall. You may find one used if you are lucky—

Roland, Korg, Yamaha, Casio.....
It all comes down to what kind of a feel she wants, and how much you want to spend.
The cheaper ones will have 'synth' action, which is a key with a spring. Better ones will have weighted keys that give more of the feel of an acoustic piano, which most experienced musicians like.
I think the Roland FP10 is the best bargain at $499 .

How "good"? What's the budget?

If she's serious, don't buy a toy. Get a real instrument. Even if you have to buy used, get something with good action and tone.

FWIW, I played classical and church organ for a few years, and could bang around on a piano. I recently looked into buying a new keyboard and came down to these two. Both are around $600 with extras like foot pedals, stand, etc.

Yamaha P125
Roland FP30

There are good ones for less. You may enjoy this guy's YouTube channel. Tons of reviews from Steinway to a $50 electric keyboard.

What skill level is she at? Playing a while or just starting out? Is she playing for her own pleasure or wants to join a band, etc? That would be the other things to consider in how much you budget for it.

If a toy piano, I recommend this one. I bought one for my 5 years old daugther, she loves it. If a professional piano, there are many things you need to consider first.

Thanks for all your suggestions. I think my kid is too young to learn professional electric piano, so I will buy a toy electric guitar for her. Thanks so much.

I fail to see the logic in:
I agree. Get her the instrument that she's drawn to even if it has to be on the cheaper side,
otherwise she might just give up on music.
Would you buy someone a drum set when they want to play the violin?
Or if your kid wanted to play Flamenco would you buy them a flying V and Marshall stack?
