I need a phono preamp

It's cheap and looks BRAND NEW! Is it a good choice for me?

I have no knowledge if it would be a good choice for your set up. Maybe someone else will.
Are you strictly shopping price or would a new one be considered? Might not be able to get one for under a $100 but it would be new, with warranty, and possibly better than a 40 year old one. I suppose that would depend on the particular new and old ones considered.
 
I bought it. ~$45, so I'm very happy that my wife will assume I'm off my meds buying old Radio Shack parts!

I hope the model # is a 'new,' heavy, Class A, low-noise, hi-fi treasure for me.

Seeing how that one was priced was why I asked if you were on a cheap budget. And believe me I know all about cheap budgets!:)
 
Of course I'll keep AK updated on how my vinyl journey goes. Based on the eBay listing's pics this preamp may be new, as in unused! We'll see...
 
Hola! My new-old-stock Realistic preamp arrived. Plastic sounds pretty! Wow, I love it, even though I'm forced to get off my tail and physically turn records over to hear an entire album (how analog...). Typing of which, it's time to switch to classical, most likely Mozart.

VINYL IS NICE!!! However, a better, higher spec phono preamp was just found by myself...my tax return is currently 'pending' in my checking account...hmm...
