Mid to late 70's. Not any better than the Emerson/Soundesign junk of the same era.

Superscope

Marantz was sold out to Superscope which continued to sell cheaper gear under the Superscope name. Superscope diluted the Marantz brand somewhat but that unit does not say "Marantz" anywhere, despite the seller's claims.

Not Marantz at all. No connection, other than the Marantz brand being owned by Superscope from 1964 to 1980. Many sellers try to convince buyers that a Superscope-branded product is actually Marantz, but that's not the case. Some standalone components were actually made in the Japanese facility that was originally Standard Radio, then Marantz Japan, but I doubt that's the case with this piece. One of a zillion combo pieces like it in the '70s - perhaps a hair better than Emerson/Soundesign/Lloyds/Yorx...or not.
