I picked up this tube amplifier

Sorry, its only about 3 - 5 watts per channel single ended. The 17 watts you saw is for push pull operation not single ended as your is.

Single ended means one output tube per channel. Push pull means two output tubes per channel. Yours only has one tube per channel so.......:

4.3 watts is the max signal power for one tube.

Doesn't matter... This was just for info... It drives my altecs pretty loud.

Yup, Altecs are pretty efficient!

The pair own looks exactly like the one in the photo. I picked it up for around 80$ and When I gave them a listen, I thought they are a keeper. Model is "Altec Lansing High FIdelity 95". Probably made in somewhere 1970's. Anyways I am looking out for a small efficient pair of speakers for this tube amplifier. If i could get my hands on some full range efficient monitor pair or something, that would be a great addition to the tube amplifier.

Thanks a lot for all the help everyone.

Here is an update on this thread. Today I had the privilege of connecting this tube amplifier to a pair of "Tannoy Gold 15'" full-range speakers which was owned by my very good friend. I had only little hope on it because so far I haven't found a pair of speakers that could be driven by this to a very good level.

I was so amazed. It sounded so good... more like out of this world because I wasn't expecting anything even close to this. Halfway on the volume pot and there is ample volume with no issues at all. I am thinking of getting a good large pair of full-range speakers to use with this amplifier.
