I reveneered my Rotel Rp550!

Hi all, i know this is the wrong area but i thought i might show it here!

I re-veneered my old rotel tt, it had some type of plasticky grey, stuff on it and it was humming quite a bit too, so i took the plunge and went for it, re-wired new shielded RCA cable and a new ground to the tonearm wires. It was scary but im well impressed with the results.

I just thought you might like to see how it went, maybe there are a few who want to do it but are afraid to try. I got plenty of help from good people on here, i did not even know what a tag-board was, nor have i soldered before so there is plenty of good advice around here.

The only thing i am missing is a button on the front, it never came with the table, i wonder would anyone know where i could get my hands on one, let me know!

Take a detail pic of the shaft for the knob you need. I have a pot load of knobs I have stripped off equipment over the years and may have something for you. BTW very nice job on the re-veneer.

Here is a pic of the missing button, with the type of button i need beside it.

I really cannot get over how much improved the sound is, tbh whenever i hear people describing how the sound gets better with changes to a tt, i am kinda dubious, generally i think these guys must have the best hearing ever, like owls perched on their turntables analyzing every note.

How very wrong i was, maybe its the new cables, or the chunky under-cover, i dunno.
